About Me!
Hi! I’m Meg!
I’ve been painting since 2003, when I was first introduced to Dungeons & Dragons at University. My first miniature was a Reaper Miniature - Alura, Succubus using black primer, being taught to drybrush 3 colors on, and painting eyes with toothpicks!
I’ve come a long way since then having freelance painted for many different companies including Reaper Miniatures, Dark Sword Miniatures, Freebooter Minis, and many smaller manufacturers prior to working for Privateer Press in-studio.
I started with Privateer Press in 2011 painting the models used in all print media including box art, magazine spreads, rule book images, painting guides and the online blog. I primarily painted Skorne, Cygnar, Retribution, Trollbloods, Circle of Ourborous and Convergence of Cyriss faction release was my final project for Privateer.
After departing Privateer Press, I travelled the world teaching miniature painting classes in many different countries including all over the US, Canada, England, Sweden, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium Australia and New Zealand.
Settling permanently in Australia in 2015, I’ve made a big effort to get the Australian painting scene up and running again by holding regular classes a few times a year and creating Crystal Dragon which is now run by Trent Denison under the name Crimson Brush. We worked together to bring artists from overseas to bring new talent, skills and knowledge to our shores to improve the level of painting. I am proud to recognize Australian painters as a powerhouse on the international stage and couldn’t be happier seeing the success of so many people I’ve had the opportunity to teach.
During the pandemic, I switched careers due to travel limitations. I now work in the Disability and Mental Health sector full-time having started as a Therapeutic Games Master using Dungeons and Dragons games as a group therapy activity. I am now an NDIS Support Coordinator for people living with very complex disability.
However, that doesn’t mean I’m not still teaching and painting! I am still involved and in 2024, I’m partnering with The Gaming Arena and Adrah Labs to kick off a new series of classes!
