The class will be at Jolt Games in Mitchell, ACT from 10am-7pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday.
I recommend all of the students bring the following with them:
Paints
Brushes
Palettes
Light
Journal and Pen
Hair Dryer
Paper Towels
Water Cup
Please note that this will be a long and intense class. I recommend everyone bring a sack lunch with them and any snacks they need in order to be comfortable during the class. We will have short breaks but otherwise I want to focus on powering through as much information as possible over the weekend.
I will supply a copy of FeR Miniature's Random Encounter 54mm Dwarf (Resin). for every student already cleaned. The aim will be to get the miniature as fully painted as possible over the course of the weekend.
The content of the course will cover the very basics of priming and the proper way of basecoating a model to begin with. Then we will cover techniques for blending including glazing/layering and Two-Brush Blending. I will explain how to tackle different surfaces on models including how to paint metallics, hair, skin tone color theory and using stippling and hashing to create visual texture on your model.
The aim of the class is to get a tabletop painter comfortable with the basics of display painting. You don't need to have any advanced knowledge of painting to enter this class. Some knowledge would be helpful but if you are a complete novice painter, don't worry! We will start at the beginning. I will also bring the different tools I use to clean models and we will cover their uses. I will also discuss the different primers on the market and explain their different properties.
